-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 - -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Trustix Secure Linux Bugfix Advisory #2006-0050 Package names: openswan, perl-dbd-mysql, php, php4 Summary: Various bug fixes Date: 2006-09-15 Affected versions: Trustix Secure Linux 2.2 Trustix Secure Linux 3.0 - -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Package description: openswan Openswan is a free implementation of IPSEC & IKE for Linux. IPsec is Internet Protocol Security and uses strong cryptography to provide both authentication and encryption services. These services allow you to build secure tunnels through untrusted networks. Everything passing through the untrusted net is encrypted by the ipsec gateway machine and decrypted by the gateway at the other end of the tunnel. The resulting tunnel is a virtual private network or VPN. perl-dbd-mysql DBD::mysql is an interface driver for connecting the DBMS independent Perl-API DBI to the mysql DBMS. When you want to use mysql from within perl, DBI and DBD::mysql are your best choice: Unlike "mysqlperl", another option, this is based on a common standard, so your sources will easily be portable to other DBMS's. php PHP is an HTML-embedded scripting language. PHP attempts to make it easy for developers to write dynamically generated web pages. PHP also offers built-in database integration for several commercial and non-commercial database management systems, so writing a database-enabled web page with PHP is fairly simple. The most common use of PHP coding is probably as a replacement for CGI scripts. The mod_php module enables the Apache web server to understand and process the embedded PHP language in web pages. php4 PHP4is an HTML-embedded scripting language. PHP4 attempts to make it easy for developers to write dynamically generated web pages. PHP4 also offers built-in database integration for several commercial and non-commercial database management systems, so writing a database-enabled web page with PHP is fairly simple. The most common use of PHP coding is probably as a replacement for CGI scripts. The mod_php module enables the Apache web server to understand and process the embedded PHP language in web pages.
