-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 - -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Trustix Secure Linux Bugfix Advisory #2005-0002 Package name: glibc iproute setup tsl-utils Summary: Package bugfixes Date: 2005-01-13 Affected versions: Trustix Secure Linux 2.1 Trustix Secure Linux 2.2 Trustix Operating System - Enterprise Server 2 Revision: 1: 2005-01-13: fixed error in md5um listing - -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Package description: glibc: The glibc package contains standard libraries which are used by multiple programs on the system. In order to save disk space and memory, as well as to make upgrading easier, common system code is kept in one place and shared between programs. This particular package contains the most important sets of shared libraries: the standard C library and the standard math library. Without these two libraries, a Linux system will not function. The glibc package also contains national language (locale) support and timezone databases. iproute: Linux 2.X maintains compatibility with the basic configuration utilities of the network (ifconfig, route) but a new utility is required to exploit the new characteristics and features of the kernel. This package includes the new utilities (/sbin/ip, /sbin/rtmon). setup: The setup package contains a set of important system configuration and setup files, such as passwd, group, and profile. tsl-utils: The Trustix Secure Linux utils is a set of utilities and scripts that are made in the development process, and that really fit in no other package. Problem description: glibc: Added success/failure to nscd.init to make it consistent with other init scripts. iproute: Now make /etc/iproute2/* config(noreplace). setup: Added lmtp ports in /etc/services. tsl-utils: Now handle more release tags in kernel names. Take II. Action: We recommend that all systems with this package installed be upgraded. Please note that if you do not need the functionality provided by this package, you may want to remove it from your system. Location: All Trustix Secure Linux updates are available from About Trustix Secure Linux: Trustix Secure Linux is a small Linux distribution for servers.
